FFA Career and Leadership development (CDE and LDE)events are competitions held for high school age agricultural education students to test their knowledge of a particular agricultural subject. These competitions happen throughout the year and are organized by state and national ffa staff and industry professionals.
oregon ffa prepares for 30 different events each school year. glide ffa prepares students in different career pathways for each of these events. these competitions create real life practical application for our in-class instruction. From public speaking to agricultural sales, veterinary science to forestry your student can participate in local and statewide events to test their knowledge and application of industry practices.
opportunities to travel and win scholarship awards within these events. student practices generally happen for the four to six weeks prior to a district event. practices are after school, and on fridays as scheduled. Practices are Subject to change. practice cancellations will be announced in class and posted on classroom calendars hanging the wall.
students are also given access to online study materials where they can learn identification of specimens, tools and diseases related to their topic. it is up to students to study and know these and other subject areas when competing if they desire to win a chance to travel to national convention in Indianapolis and compete. more information about national convention can be found
